Who We Are

Four Pillars Behavioral Health draws its name from the four interconnected pillars of mental health widely recognized in behavioral health and wellness literature:

01
Physical Health
the body–mind connection (sleep, movement, nutrition)
02
Emotional Health
understanding and regulating feelings
03
Cognitive Health
clear thinking, focus, and resilience
04
Social Health
meaningful connection and support

These four pillars form the stable foundation on which mental health is built. Just as a building needs strong pillars to stand, people need balanced support in all four areas to thrive. The practice was founded by two experienced psychiatric providers who saw that many patients lack this integrated foundation. We created Four Pillars Behavioral Health as a stable, trusted environment where patients receive expert guidance across all four pillars — through psychiatric medication management, therapy, and coordinated care — so they can build lasting recovery and well-being.

Meet Our Providers

Sarah Keenan, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner & Co-Founder

“I take the time needed to get to the root of the problem and partner with my patients as active participants in their care. Together, we make informed decisions as I provide clinical expertise and guidance tailored to each person’s unique needs, history, and goals.”

With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, Sarah Keenan co-founded Four Pillars Behavioral Health to create a stable, supportive practice where patients can truly heal. Her background spans psychiatric emergency care to academic faculty roles, giving her a deep, well-rounded perspective on mental health treatment. She built this practice as a calm, relationship-centered environment where individuals feel seen and supported rather than rushed through brief visits.

Sarah holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Massachusetts Global and a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Maryland. Her approach is rooted in an evidence-based, holistic view of the four pillars of mental health — physical, emotional, cognitive, and social- using functional psychiatry principals where they make sense.  As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management for a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma-related issues. Her goal is to offer a safe, comfortable environment where healing can occur at the patient’s own pace.

Jessica Janey, DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner & Co-Founder

“The patient always comes first. This means spending the time needed to get to the root of the problem, taking a holistic approach to look at the myriad factors that influence mental health, and providing a safe and comfortable environment where healing can occur.”

With over 20 years of health care experience and 11 years as a healthcare provider, Jessica Janey co-founded Four Pillars Behavioral Health to establish a reliable, patient-focused practice dedicated to meaningful healing. She designed the practice to offer a calm and consistent setting where people receive thoughtful attention instead of hurried appointments.

Jessica earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing (PMHNP) from the University of Cincinnati and has a Master of Science in Nursing (FNP) from Walden University. She also brings valuable experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She uses an evidence-based approach combined with a holistic understanding of the four pillars of mental health — physical, emotional, cognitive, and social. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she delivers thorough psychiatric evaluations and thoughtful medication management for conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma-related challenges. She is committed to creating a supportive space where patients can heal at their own pace.
